Printer paper jams can be frustrating particularly when the office is running on a deadline and documents need to be submitted right away. These things occur on a regular basis in the office, but there are underlying reasons why these things happen.
Printer paper jams happen due to a number of causes, and getting informed about these reasons allow the office to prevent the same from happening. Printer errors can cause not only delays in the workplace but also additional costs to be incurred by the business. One of the reasons why printer paper jams occur is because employees fail to use the wrong type of paper.
There are certain printing devices which have specific requirements on the thickness and density of the supplies needed to be fed to the equipment. The office must make sure not to use too thin or too thick of a supply of paper in order to prevent problems to occur when printing. Past printer paper jams may cause future problems because employees fail to clear the printing device of torn paper.
When jams occur, it is always advisable not to immediately print. Instead, take the time to open the printer and check for any left paper inside the equipment. Hastily printing may lead to further delays. Printer paper jams also occur due to an overheated fuser. When printer paper is being fed to the machine and has been printing for extended periods, the fuser overheats and causes the paper to bend. This in the long run can lead to printer paper jam.
Making oneself aware of how printer paper jams occur allow employees to make the necessary actions to prevent the same from happening again.
