Things to Keep in Mind When Buying Brother HL 2035 Toner

Brother HL 2035 toner is the ink used for Brother HL-2035 printer. This printer is from, of course, Brother, a well known maker of fax machines, printers, toners and other related products. Brother HL-2035 printer is a compact machine that is more suitable for home office or personal use. It is a simple, entry level printer that’s very affordable and, with sensible use, not too expensive to continue using and to maintain. It doesn’t print as fast as the considerably more expensive printers. But its print speed is not that bad at all, considering that it’s one of the most affordable of its kind.

This machine has four LEDs that should tell you if the drum is exhausted, if the printer is low on toner and if there’s paper jam. The lights also show that the printer is preparing to commence printing. 

The printer’s resolution is at 2,400 by 600 and with Brother ink cartridges – that have ink that according to the manufacturer, will last for years – this printer can produce clear texts and crisp photos. Text in print outs is usually dense, smooth and not patchy. There’s also a good variation in shades and zero banding.  

Original HL 2035 toner, also called OEM (original equipment manufacturer) toner, is from the same company that manufactured the printer, which, in this case, is Brother. OEM toners should be able to deliver acceptable print quality and optimum performance from the latest innovations in the brand’s printing technology. But you can also ask about the less expensive options like compatible ink cartridges and remanufactured ink cartridges. Compatible cartridges are not from the makers of the printer, but these ink cartridges can work just fine with specific printers. Remanufactured ink cartridges – also called recycled cartridges –are third party cartridges just like compatible cartridges. To make sure that you are getting high quality third party ink cartridges that won’t conk out, leak, malfunction or produce hideous prints, buy only from reliable vendors. These should be stores – either online or brick and mortar – that have good word of mouth. They should not have more complaints of bad products than positive reviews and should preferably have been in business for quite some time.

The printer comes with a starter HL 2035 toner. The typical HL 2035 ink prints about 1,500 pages. The starter toner apparently prints slightly less than the usual toner. This printer, by the way, uses a cartridge with separate toner and  drum components so you don’t need to replace the entire thing if you only need to replace the drum. And you would only need to change the drum after about 15,000 pages.      

To make sure you are getting exactly the right kind of toner for your printer, check the toner’s box for the exact printer make or model. You can also check the printer’s manual and the printer’s box if you can’t find the toner’s box.

Putting the HL 2035 toner cartridge is quite easy and straightforward. Just open the front cover and insert the cartridge which has two separate components – the drum and the toner. The cartridge should easily slide into place.
